Alzheimer's Association, Houston and Southeast Texas Chapter forms Alliances with CareFlash
HOUSTON, June 9, 2008 --
Alzheimer's Association, Houston and Southeast Texas Chapter , which is based in Houston, Texas and serves 29 Texas counties, has formed an alliance with CareFlash.
Richard Elbein, CEO of Alzheimer's Association, Houston and Southeast Texas Chapter stated, "The prevalence of Alzheimer's Disease is rapidly increasing. That increase demands the development of more resources and finances in support of persons with Alzheimer's and their families. CareFlash supports our clients by giving them a way to build community when it matters most. We are pleased to provide CareFlash as a communication tool that streamlines updates, education and involvement of the friends and family around a person with dementia. Beyond that, CareFlash has aligned with our organizational goals to help further our impact in the community."
CareFlash Founder, Jay Drayer, added, "I was surprised to learn that more than 7 of 10 people with Alzheimer's disease live at home and almost 75% of the home care is provided by family and friends. That means that millions of families are battling this disease from their very own homes. Alzheimer's Association plays a huge role in the advancement of research and the resources that are made available to those patients and families in the trenches, battling this disease."
