Corporate Summary
What motivated the development of CareFlash?
CareFlash was founded by Jay Drayer in connection with two experiences in his life. One gave him the indication that there was a compelling need for CareFlash. The other gave him the motivation to leave the world of corporate finance, where he was employed as a CFO, to develop CareFlash.
The experience that provided Jay the notion that there was a definite need for CareFlash surrounded a two month stay that his father-in-law experienced in an ICU ward in Bryan, Texas. This was the first time that Jay or his wife, Terry, had been in the circumstance of being a caretaker to someone dealing with chronic healthcare challenges. To say it was an eye opener is an understatement.
The experience that gave Jay the motivation to develop CareFlash surrounded the 9/11 tragedies where Jay witnessed the second plane's impact on the WTC as he was headed to a 9am meeting in downtown New York, exiting the subway in time to witness the incident. Jay calls this the most compelling and defining moment of his life... an experience that left him a profoundly different person. To this date, Jay still readily keeps-up with the fellow he was to meet with that morning at 60 Wall Street (Lab Morgan, at the time). It was this experience that provided Jay the motivation that ultimately became the inception of CareFlash. As a result of the experience, Jay became, and still today is a volunteer at the University of Texas, M. D. Anderson Cancer Center.
CareFlash assists in addressing fear and anxiety surrounding healthcare circumstances by delivering unprecedented, world-class, advocacy and education
CareFlash provides a common place on the Internet, to and from which people may submit, retrieve and share information and well-wishes surrounding a loved one's health circumstances. In the respective context of each community, we serve-up hundreds of 3-D healthcare animations on disorders, procedures and anatomical function, all produced with world-class quality and accuracy, and narrated in plain language. The animations are also available in Spanish and Arabic with more languages to come in 2008.
CareFlash also allows the caretaker to reach-out to their community, unobtrusively facilitating the communication of needs and preferences, allowing loved ones to donate time, meals or services during a dire time. All of these features are intuitively organized in a private, invitation-only website, unique to each given patient.
CareFlash is completely free to our users because select industries value having their advertisements tastefully and unobtrusively deployed in the circumstances on which each unique community is based.
