FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE TuDiabetes, CareFlash At the recent Health 2.0 Conference, founders TuDiabetes founder Years later, a thought sparked in Manny’s head around taking Social Networks beyond socializing to even higher levels… leading him to launch his own Social Network for people with diabetes. According to Manny, “TuDiabetes’ vision surrounds the hope that people of all ages and races, parents and children alike, with all types of diabetes will engage in a fruitful exchange.” After Manny’s wife coined “TuDiabetes”, he said “The name made immediate sense to me based on some creative wordplay where so many of us are impacted by diabetes in ourselves or in someone we know. “Tu” is Spanish for "Your" and it sounds similar to "Too" (you too have diabetes).” Manny added, “I am honored to announce this alliance with CareFlash. We feel this collaboration will extend the benefits we bring to our members by offering access to a resource to help create and celebrate community around each member of the TuDiabetes family.” Jay Drayer, Founder and CEO of CareFlash added, "I was amazed to learn that diabetes represents one of the most challenging problems for the 21st century. CareFlash works to help alleviate fear and anxiety in the lives of people who are there to support a loved one dealing with the numerous aspects of hundreds of disorders. In this case, when a diabetic creates a private CareFlash community for the benefit of their family and friends, this serves as a communication tool that conveniently streamlines recovery updates and ways that they can unobtrusively support what's going-on. CareFlash also automatically displays relevant 3-D animations on topics including: Diabetes, Diabetic Nephropathy, Diabetic Neuropathy, Diabetic Retinopathy, Gestational Diabetes, Thyroid Disease, Diabetes Medication, Insulin Delivery, Thyroid Medication and others that help people to get quickly up-to-speed in easy-to-comprehend terms." Jay added “The animations explain in plain, everyday English, Spanish (and other languages) what's going on with the challenges at hand. It's unfortunate where too many practitioners go about explaining diagnoses to patients and caretakers... accompanying complex communications (amidst heightened stress and anxiety) using a plastic model of the organ at-risk. It's an everyday circumstance where we hear from users around the world, testifying that (even months into some sort of a health challenge) they have never clearly understood what they or their child have been dealing with, from listening to a practitioner.” Jay went on, “200 million people suffer from obesity today and forecasts predict this will increase 70% by 2025. Our obesity epidemic is the main factor driving the rise in type 2 diabetes. Around the world, CareFlash communities serve as effective ways to allow family and friends to work together as an engaged support fabric to assist in modifying the behavior of the at-risk person. It is our sincere hope that CareFlash will be successful in deferring or eliminating diabetes in millions by assisting to engage the supportive communities of trusted family members and friends thus facilitating the success in supporting their loved ones.” Contact: CareFlash http://www.twitter.com/careflash TuDiabetes |
